Meet Bernard's Pick of the Menswear Sale

Posted on

It's the last weekend of lockdown, and what better way to mark the occasion than to fill your wardrobe with fresh new styles for Freedom Day? We know rummaging through the sales isn't always the most zen experience, so to help you top up your shopping cart with hot looks and up to 60% off, we've picked some of our favourite pieces from the Meet Bernard sale rail.

Universal Works Fatigue Jacket YMC Curtis Shirt YMC Malick Shirt

Shirts

You know what it's like in the UK: just because it's summer doesn't mean you won't need layers. But rather than lugging jackets and waterproofs around we prefer to throw on a shirt. This plaid style from Nudie makes the perfect in-between layer for cooler evenings, and looks just as good buttoned up as it does open over your statement tee.
Okay it's technically a jacket, but the best thing about this fatigue style from Universal Works is that you can layer it up, or wear it alone depending on the weather – now that's what we call an all-rounder.
For smarter evenings, a seersucker style, like this minimal check Curtis Seersucker shirt from YMC is the perfectly blends light summer fabrics with a practical long-sleeve for when the temperature drops. But when those few fleeting weeks of guaranteed sun come through, it's short-sleeves all the way. We love this 70s-inspired paisley shirt from YMC, but if you need something a little less stand-out, you can't go wrong in navy linen from La Paz.

Edwin Fuju Tarot Deck Tee Edwin Japanese Sun Tee Edwin Upcoming Prophecy Tee

Tees

King of the tees this season (and every season, really) is Edwin. This summer we're loving their Japanese-inspired collaborations, not least because it's piquing our sense of wanderlust after a year stuck in the grey UK. The Fuji Tarot Deck tee doesn't just predict, but straight-up guarantees a future of effortless style, while the Upcoming Prophecy graphic tee steps up the oriental illustrations, while the off-white tone packs a little more punch than your standard white t-shirt.
And for those who like a little colour, this muted purple Japanese Sun style strikes the perfect balance between statement style and pared-back classic.

Kestin Inverness Shorts La Paz Morais Shorts Universal Works Camo Shorts

Kestin Inverness Shorts / La Paz Morais Shorts / Universal Works Camo Shorts

Shorts

Beach, brunch, or bar, the Morais shorts by La Paz are a comfy casual style you'll want to be seen in, but for slightly more refined occasions, try the Universal Works camo shorts. They bring pattern, personality, and a muted palette that can be paired just as easily with other prints as you plain shorts. But we get it: camo print isn't for everyone. If you prefer something that (ironically) stands out a little less, the Kestin Inverness shorts in olive are the perfect smart casual crossover. On extra hot days in the office, you could even style them with a smart Oxford shirt.

Karhu Aria Saucony Shadow 6000

Trainers

Sandals aren't for everyone, and with these trainers in your grasp, who needs them? Finnish brand Karhu have been designing running shoes for Olympic athletes for over 100 years so you can count on style, comfort, and support all in one shoe. We love the Aria 95's vetiver and tea rose colour way that combines a muted autumn tone with a splash of summery pink.

Or for something more stripped-back, the Saucony Shadow 6000 in monochrome brings a touch of futuristic style with a metallic silver strip.

And just like that, you've got your summer style sorted on a budget.
